Alain Jacquet

Alain Jacquet was born the 22nd of February 1939 in Neuilly-sur-Seine and is dead th 4th of September 2008 in New York.

Alain Jacquet is a painter of the New Figuration movement, or Narrative Figuration. He studied Pop Art, but is soon marginalised. Jacquet was not recognized in the US, being far from the successfull New Realism.

After a first period, around 1961, characterized by his oils on canvas where surfaces are organised by large stains of bright colors, his work turns to the "Camouflages" series (1962-1963).

Alain Jacquet became famous thanks to the Mec-Art, of whom he is one of the major representatives.
