Alighiero e Boetti

Alighiero Boetti (born the 16th of December 1940 in Turin and deceased in Rome, the 24th of April 1994) is an Italian painter, sculptor and plastic artist, affiliated to the Arte Povera movement.

During his first personal exhibition in January 1967 at the Galerie Stein, Turin, Alighiero Boetti presented essentially sculptures, for which he used materials juxtaposition and pileup methods. The same year, in september, he participated in, with Mario Merz, Jannis Jounellis, Luciano Fabro, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Giulio Paolini, at the collective exhibition "Arte Povera", which gave its name to the movement.
