Born on the 9th of November 1926 in Saint-Brieuc, France, and died the 28th of October 2005 in Paris, France.
French plastic artist, Hains is a contemporary of his friend Jacques Villeglé, and like him worked on mangled posters and became a member of the New Realism movement in 1960.
Since 1964, Hains stayed many times in Italy where he realized boxes enlargements.
Raymond Hains was part of many international events, as Documenta IV in Kassel. His works are in many museums in France and abroad. Hains was rewarded the Kurt Schwitters prize in 1997.
