"A pioneer in experimental music, Phill Niblock is the director of the Experimental Intermedia, Foundation, based in New York, devoted to avant-garde music. For over 50 years he has been developing a multidisciplinary body of work combining minimalist music, conceptual art and film. His series of 16 mm films entitled "The Movement of People Working", shot between 1973 and 2010 in out-of-the-way areas of China, Brazil, Portugal, the Arctic, the Adirondacks, etc., depicts the daily work of people living in rural or coastal regions through their movements and gestures."
